Parks in Munich

Munich is a very green city with a number of excellent parks. The Englischer Garten runs the length of the Leopold Str from the centre and also near the centre is the Olympia Park built for the olympics in the 70s.

Englischer Garten

Can be walked from the Marienplatz, or take the U3/U6 and get at at Odeonsplatz, Universität, Giselastraße or Münchener Freiheit. The lake is at the  Münchener Freiheit end complete with boat hire and beer garden, or get out at Münchener Freiheit, and walk right into the park past the fountains. Then you can visit the Chinesischer Turm and beergarden. 

Olympiapark

The Olympia park was built for the Olympics, on a nice day go up the tower. U-Bahn: U3 Olympiazentrum
